At Camp DeForest, we’ve repurposed a mid-century motor lodge to create an intimate modern getaway that embraces the traditions of summer camp and celebrates the spirit of Maine’s MidCoast. With comfortable, nostalgic-yet-modern decor, and plenty of amenities and activities to enjoy both “at camp” and away, we hope that your stay at Camp DeForest will be joyful, invigorating, and just as restorative as a break in the woods can be.

Our MidCoast Location

Camp DeForest is located at 12 Whitney Road, Lincolnville, ME — a scenic 2-hour drive from the Portland International Jetport, 10 minutes from quaint and beautiful Camden, and 15 minutes from historic downtown Belfast.

Lincolnville, selected as one of the Top 20 Dream Towns in America by Outside Magazine, is located in the heart of the MidCoast region of Maine, an area known for its unique geography and history. Mountains really do meet the sea here, so you can hike a short summit and from the top, look out over the vast islands of Penobscot Bay. Numerous picturesque villages, most with working waterfronts, dot the shoreline along the region’s scenic byways. There’s plenty to explore in Lincolnville and up and down the beautiful coastline. No matter where you settle in, your room will include luxurious organic sheets and towels; cozy robes; in-room coffee and an electric kettle; mini fridge; complimentary Wi-Fi; and RoomNet enhanced TV and entertainment.

Common Questions

Yes, Wi-Fi is available through camp, in your room and at the lodge, but we encourage campers to disconnect and savor the moment when they can!
Yes, the Camp Cafe serves savory snacks and caffeinated beverages from 10:30am-5pm each day. We also serve complimentary breakfast to guests each morning. We also offer a selection of non-alcoholic and alcoholic beverages and assorted snacks in our Camp Store. Looking for lunch or dinner? Stop by Happy Trails or join us for a nice glass of bubbly or some craft beer at Lantern Bar.

Camp DeForest is a pet free zone. We adore critters of all kinds — but for the comfort and safety of every camper, our cabins are pet-free. We ask that you leave your animal friends at home to maintain a healthy and allergy free environment for all campers.
If you are driving an electric vehicle, we have an EV charging space adjacent to the Pine/Spruce cabin. It is a Tesla charger but will work with most electric vehicles as long as you have the proper adapter.
At Camp DeForest, we strive to make our camp experience welcoming and enjoyable for everyone. While our grounds and facilities reflect the rustic charm of a vintage summer camp, we’ve worked hard to incorporate modern accessibility features wherever possible. You betcha! Gift cards are available onsite in the Camp Store or you can buy one online right now! They are good for purchase of snacks, drinks, gear, and other provisions anywhere at camp. You can also pickup a gift certificate online or in the store. Gift certificates can be used exclusively for booking rooms and cabins at Camp!

Camp DeForest is a reimagined summer camp experience designed for families, couples, and grown-up campers. We’ve taken all the best parts of classic camp—cozy cabins, crackling campfires, s’mores under the stars—and combined them with the comforts of a boutique retreat.
While we’re not a sleepaway camp for unaccompanied children, we are a proud member of the American Camp Association and fully committed to the spirit of traditional camping: community, connection, and the great outdoors. Think less bug juice, more good coffee. Less bunk inspection, more memory-making.
