Camp DeForest is not a ballroom, and it is not trying to be one. It is fourteen cabins and lodge rooms tucked into the pines along Penobscot Bay, a lawn built for exactly the kind of golden hour you have forty photos saved of, and a campfire that gets lit every single night, whether there is a wedding that weekend or not.
Some brides need convincing that a camp wedding can feel considered and elegant instead of rustic and thrown together. You are probably not one of them. You already know what you want. You are just looking for the place that can actually hold it.
This Isn't a Package. It's a Weekend.
The Full Camp Takeover is exactly what it sounds like. From Friday afternoon to Sunday afternoon, the entire property is yours. Every cabin, every lodge room, the whole stretch of pine meadow, the Lodge, the fire rings. No other guests. No other wedding happening fifty feet away while you take photos. Just your people, for the whole weekend.
It typically holds 50 to 100 guests for the day of celebration, and 30 to 50 overnight across our cabins and lodge rooms. If your list runs longer, our local lodging partners can place the rest of your group within a few minutes of camp, so nobody misses the morning coffee on the lawn.
This isn't a rental. It's a commitment to a specific kind of weekend, the kind where the ceremony is one very beautiful afternoon inside three unhurried days.
What a Weekend Here Actually Feels Like
Friday starts quietly.
Your people arrive through the afternoon, find their cabins, and by evening everyone has gathered for a welcome dinner. Afterward, the fire ring does what it always does. People wander toward it without being asked. Someone starts a game in the Lodge, cards or something older a grandparent taught somebody once. And somewhere in there, everyone builds their own s'more exactly the way they like it. Slightly burnt. Extra chocolate. Two marshmallows stacked like it's a competition. Nobody is performing for a photographer at this part. This is just Friday.
Saturday is the day everyone came for.
Coffee on the lawn, maybe a guided hike or bayside yoga for anyone who wants it, then the ceremony itself in the pine meadow as the light comes in low through the trees. Dinner and dancing follow, under the Lodge roof or a sailcloth tent open to the bay, and the night usually ends the way Friday did. Around the fire, with the people who matter most, still in their dancing shoes.
Sunday is slow on purpose.
Farewell brunch on the Lodge porch, one more walk to the water for anyone who wants it, and a goodbye that takes longer than it should, because nobody is quite ready to leave.

Not One Size Fits All
A wedding weekend at camp isn't the same for every couple, and it shouldn't be. The Full Camp Takeover is built for couples who want the whole property and the full weekend, usually 50 guests and up. For a smaller celebration, the Day Camp Wedding gives you a single day with the ceremony lawn and the Lodge, from vows to send-off in one place, without the overnight commitment. And for two people who want the feeling without the guest list, Elopement at Camp offers a private ceremony for up to 20, a two-night stay in the honeymoon cabin, and a campfire that is just as real with two people around it as it is with a hundred.
